Jonty Hearnden joined Bonham's Auction House in London in 1979 to become a furniture cataloguer. From there he went on to manage Lots Road Galleries, another auction room in London.

In 1990 Jonty opened his own antiques business in Dorchester-on-Thames, from where he still trades. He specialises in C18th and C19th furniture and decorative objects.

He was a member of the judging panel for the British Antiques and Collectables Awards (BACA) since its inception and expert on BBC 1's "Antiques Road Show". He is currently filming his 12th series for BBC 1's "Cash in the Attic."

Jonty has recently been appointed consultant editor to Miller's Publications incorporating Miller's Antiques Price Guide and Miller's Collectables Guide.

Jonty is now the face of Valued at Oxfam, a national campaign to encourage the nation to donate their valuables and antiques directly to Oxfam.
